A hidden error costing thousands

The meter was directly linked to the district heating provider and used to estimate energy consumption, forming the basis for billing.

However, during installation, the temperature sensor was placed incorrectly. Additionally, an excessive amount of air in the pipe caused faulty readings, resulting in significantly inflated energy consumption figures.

For three years, the real estate company was unknowingly overbilled. Given an average district heating cost of €0.07 per kWh, the error led to approximately €7,000 in unnecessary expenses per year.

Fixing the issue and preventing future errors

Once the error was detected, the configuration was corrected, ensuring the company now receives accurate invoices – thanks to our rigorous verification procedures during installation.
