To gain control, we installed a new set of sub-meters, which quickly revealed an unusually high baseload from the ventilation system – far exceeding expected levels. Further investigation revealed the root cause: a factory defect that led to excessive energy consumption—an issue that would have gone unnoticed within the building’s overall energy use. With precise data, the company could document exactly how much more energy the system was using.   ## €18,000 in annual saving – with no upfront costs The discrepancy was so significant that, with the data as evidence, the company was able to file a successful claim with the equipment supplier. As a result, the faulty system was replaced at no cost. It’s easy to underestimate the impact of small inefficiencies, but in this case, identifying and solving the issue is saving the company around €18,000 per year per ventilation system – all thanks to accurate energy data and better control over consumption.
